Patience has always been part of your sex life, and with stimulation, you can achieve these results withoutmuch of a baldness problem. But now, research has found that, in fact, there’s a cure for impotence, and that’s with the help of a new medication, Sildenafil Citrate.
Sildenafil, a new drug from Canada that works by increasing blood flow to the penis, has been a game-changer in the battle against impotence. The medication, sold under the brand name Viagra, was originally developed to treat hypertension and angina. It’s now available in 50mg, 100mg, and 200mg doses, making it the most potent of the older drugs.
While some people might have a hard time sustaining their erection for long enough to achieve a satisfactory erection, Sildenafil is a long-acting drug that can take effect within minutes. In clinical trials, the medication had an effect lasting from 4 to 8 hours.
“We found that Sildenafil was effective in treating impotence for four to six hours,” explains, urologist with the University of Washington School of Medicine’s urology division. “However, it was not as effective as the placebo group, which showed no improvement in erectile function.”
Sildenafil works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, allowing more blood to flow into it, which leads to an erection. The drug also allows the penis to become wider and firmer, allowing more blood to flow into it when sexually aroused. This can lead to improved sexual performance and a more gratifying erection.
While the medication is effective, it’s not without side effects. Some people might experience headaches, dizziness, or nasal congestion. Serious side effects like allergic reactions or vision changes can occur. If you experience any concerning symptoms, call your healthcare provider right away.
If you experience any serious side effects, such as chest pain or shortness of breath, seek immediate medical attention. It’s also important to keep in mind that Sildenafil is only for men and should not be taken by women or children.
“While we are thrilled to have Sildenafil for this purpose, it’s not a cure for impotence,” says Dr. David Graham, urology professor at George Washington University and a leader in the Urology Association’s International Scientific Consensus Panel on Impotence, which published its results in the December issue ofJournal of Urology. “It’s not an cure for impotence, but an effective treatment for impotence.”
